Remera-Rukoma District Hospital received a delegation of Senators

Today 29 July 2026, Remera-Rukoma District Hospital received a delegation of Senators comprising Dr. NYINAWAMWIZA Laetitia and Dr. HABINEZA Frank, members of the Senate Committee on Economy and Finance, who are conducting an oversight mission to assess the implementation of the Government's rural electrification program.

The Senators were accompanied by various officials from Kamonyi District, led by the Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development, Mr. NIYONGIRA Uzziel. They were welcomed by the Director General of Remera-Rukoma District Hospital, Dr. JARIBU Theogene, together with the hospital management and staff.

The Senate Committee on Economy and Finance organized this oversight mission to evaluate the Government's progress in expanding access to electricity under the Second National Strategy for Transformation (NST2, 2024–2029). Through this strategy, the Government has committed to ensuring that electricity reaches all development facilities, including healthcare institutions, with the goal of achieving 100% electricity coverage by 2029.
